Across Another Life is the second novel written by Waleed Hashim. He started writing the novel when he was in his senior year of high school in the year 2000 and completed it upon graduation university in the 2003. The novel is written in Arabic and follows the story of three young men and three young women in two juveniles delinquents centers (one for boys and one for girls) when a small earthquake causes a crack in the separating wall through which the six meet and get to know each other and things escalate from there.

 

Waleed Hashim is a spiritual teacher, novelist, lawyer and legal consultant. He started writing poetry, short stories and novels at a young age. Across Another Life is his award winning novel. The novel won the Bahrain Book Award for the year 2007 after its publication in the year 2006 and is considered Waleed's most famous work due to its approach in challenging the traditional duality of the feminine and masculine relationship.
